Royal Academy’s Summer exhibition has run in the summer uninterrupted for the past 251 years. For the first time in its history, for its 252nd outing, the Summer Exhibition will happen in winter. This year’s exhibition includes new works by El Anatsui, Tracey Emin, Rebecca Horn, Anselm Kiefer, Julian Schnabel, Gillian Wearing and Ai Weiwei.
