El Anatsui once again veils an entire museum structure with his colossal work

This edition of Carnegie International is curated by Ingrid Schaffner and her super-star, all female team: associate curator Liz Park, Magalí Arriola, Doryun Chong, Ruba Katrib, Carin Kuoni, and Bisi Silva. For this edition of the Carnegie Museum exhibition, a commissioned work by El Anatsui plays a central, if not iconic, role. Three Angles, 2018, a monumental sculpture made of his signature aluminium bottle-caps juxtaposed with locally sourced newsprint plates and mirrors, drapes the entire façade of the historic building in Pittsburg. Carnegie International will also feature  31 other artists and collectives including Kenyan photographer Mimi Cherono Ng’ok, British painter Lynette Yiadom-Boakye, Tavares Strachan of the Bahamas, and American artists Kevin Jerome Everson, Leslie Hewitt, and Kerry James Marshall.
