After Rain: Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale

This is the second edition of Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale. Beginning in 2021, the international art fair takes place at a refurbished industrial complex in the JAX district of Diriyah, Saudi Arabia. This year, the biennale’s artistic director is Ute Meta Bauer and it showcases 177 works by 100 artist from around the world that speak to human needs like food, water and clothing. Here El Anatsui’s Detsi, created between 2008-2021, continues its illustrious journey and the labyrinthine Logoligi Logarithm, composed of 66 individual pieces, makes its first appearance since its debut in Triumphant Scale.
