Showcasing contemporary takes on the millennia-old art of textile making
Threads: Weaving Stories Across Time engages with the work of contemporary artists, many of whom have been artists-in-residence at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum; artists, like El Anatsui, that are redefining textile art through various unorthodox mediums. The exhibition will showcase the Ghanaian stalwart’s Many Came back, 2005. Other creators whose works are on display include William Kentridge, Lee Mingwei, The Raqs Media Collective, Elaine Reichek, Helen Mirra, and Nevet Yitzhak.
