Special exhibition in the first floor galleries of the Broad
This exhibition coincides with the reopening of the Broad since it shut its doors to the public due to the pandemic. Invisible Sun features works that, although not created specifically in response to it, resonate with this unprecedented period of rupture and unrest. El Anatsui is represented by his signature large-scale metal wall hanging, a shimmering, textile-like installation titled Intermittent Signals, 2009. Other artists featured include Alexander Calder, Keith Haring, Jenny Holzer, Julie Mehretu, Nathaniel Mary Quinn, Cindy Sherman, and many others in the Broad collection.
