Material World features 22 artists whose works explore the amalgamation of everyday use objects, things found in homes and offices and worn on bodies, objects whose empty vessels are discarded absent-mindedly after use, into elaborate works of art, grand abstractions filled with depth of meaning. El Anatsui‘s wittily named new piece, Bloodshot Eyes Don’t Mean Seriousness, Clenched Teeth Don’t Either, 2023, is a highlight of the exhibition.
