Introducing a major Japanese museum's collection of art from Africa
An exhibition titled Museum Collection III – All of the Contemporary Art Collection at the Setagaya Art Museum showcases works by artists from west and central Africa acquired by the museum following the An Inside Story: African Art of Our Time museum survey held in 1995. El Anatsui‘s multi-piece installation, On Their Fateful Journey to Nowhere, 1995, is prominently displayed as a remarkable touchstone for the Tokyo museum’s shindig.
