New Beginnings: the Epoch of African Art

This exhibition presents works of El Anatsui and a group of leading African artists in Pure Lagos’ brand new artier on West Bute Street in the well appointed Freemason district of downtown Norfolk, a highbrow part of town according to local historian Dr. E. Curtis Alexander, that was once home to numerous thriving black owned businesses and art galleries during the reconstruction era of American history. New Beginnings: the Epoch of African Art is presented by Sia Alexander and Joseph Chike Nwagbogu.
