Portals

Introducing itself as a new contemporary cultural centre in Athens, the symbolic former Public Tobacco Factory opens its doors for the first time to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Greek War of Independence. The new venue will host Portals, an international group exhibition featuring 59 artists from 27 countries. A highlight among the many works is Rising Sea, 2019, a glorious metallic wall tapestry by El Anatsui that is reminiscent of a sky above a city skyline. Other exhibiting artists are Nikos Alexiou, Dimitrios Antonitsis, Kutluğ Ataman, Kostas Bassanos and others.
