Revival: Materials and Monumental Forms

Revival: Materials and Monumental Forms is the opening showcase of ICA Watershed for Summer 2022. Inspired by the building’s mixed-use history, this exhibition honours six international artists who reflect on systems of industry, nature, and society using the detritus of their environment. There is much emphasis on the work titled Area B, 2007, a monumental, glittering, tapestry-like sculpture made of striated, crumpled and folded aluminium bottle caps by El Anatsui. The other participating artists are Madeline Hollander, Ibrahim Mahama, Karyn Olivier, Ebony G. Patterson, and Joe Wardwell.
