The second edition of a first-of-its-kind augmented reality (AR) exhibition

Curated by Hadas Maor and Tal Michael Haring, Seeing the Invisible is a contemporary art exhibition initiated by the Jerusalem Botanical Gardens that features augmented reality (AR) works by established artists from various countries. The exhibition offers a “phydigital” experience, combining the physical location and the digital manifestation of a work into a single seamless experience, across 12 botanical gardens all over the world. It features the digital installation of AG + BA, 2014/2021, a free-standing, two-pieced aluminium bottle cap sculpture by El Anatsui as well works from internationally renowned artists: Loukia Alavanou, Refik Anadol, Ori Gersht, Isaac Julien CBE RA, Mohammed Kazem, Sigalit Landau, Daito Manabe, Sarah Meyohas, Mel O’Callaghan, Pamela Rosenkranz, Timur Si-Qin, Jakob Kudsk Steensen, and Ai Weiwei. Visitors download the Seeing the Invisible app and wonder the serene gardens seeing the beautiful works of these artists in augmented reality.
