Soft Power

This Spring, Soft Power is a conversation about textiles not only as handcrafted or industrially produced objects, but also as part of systems. It examines the concepts of expression and communication, like questioning the powers that be, through various forms of textile. On display are the works of artists who explore intricacies of the histories, cartographies, and cosmologies of their chosen materials. The exhibited works include an untitled tapestry by El Anatsui, juxtaposed with works by Candis Mosely Pettway, Elrid Metzkes, Caroline Achaintre, William Kentridge and many others.
