Cultural Abstraction is a virtual showcase that highlights the work of the artists of the Nigeria-based Nsukka Group. It demonstrates the group’s use of Uli designs from Igbo culture as an act of cultural reclamation in the post-colonial period. Conspirators, 1997, a classic wood-panel work from a prominent member of the Nsukka Group, El Anatsui, is a selected work for this exhibition.
