El Anatsui is given Carte Blanche at La Conciergerie

As an ode to the sort of freedom that echoes the history of the monument, El Anatsui, still not very well known by the French public, has been given freedom to adorn the halls of La Conciergerie with video installations and his beautiful metal tapestries.

As part of the “One Artist, One Monument” program, the Centre des Monuments Nationaux (CMN) have invited Anatsui to create an exhibition for la Conciergerie, which he has called En Quête de Liberté. The show is a part of the Africa2020 season and will remain on display until the 14th of November.
