African Art has a growing interest from all around the world and this is made relatively easy due to contemporary African artists like El Anatsui. In turn, modern and contemporary African Art in the London art market is propelled to get split – into ‘Modern Art’ and ‘Contemporary Art’. Modern art collectors have seen Nigerians emerging with high margins of over 80%, reflecting positively on Nigeria GDP with noted collectors; whereas the Contemporary art collectors are mostly from outside of Africa.
